can someone post the official FHI paint code for 'black mica metallic' please...
this is the black with tiny purple metal flecks in - as per 1999 sti 5 and 99/00 WRX imports...
also on the recent 'sport specials' I believe

Hello m8,

The paint code is 47A for black mica to be totally sure open you bonnet on your top right hand side, on the side there is a metal plate with codes the number should be on there under the VIN number, spelt out colour.

My car is a UK MY97 Catalunya the only uk spec to be avilable in Black Mica, I think it's a great colour as it's only avilable on the grey imports and the Cat's(only 200 made).. not even an optional extra.....RARE!!

thanks for that - mine is an sti 5 so I don't get a vin number or paint code on the vehicle id plate - just model code + chassis -
thought the catalunyas were same paint but wasn't sure.

btw, black has always been an option in europe - another daft policy from IM - but I'm happier if it makes mine a little more exclusive.

Topcat, just out of interest, I have a Uk MY 94 which is black mica ( same paint code as the cats), I believe its one of the earliest UK cars , its fitted with aircon and cruise control! of all things ( never use the cruise). Interested to hear if any other early black mica uk cars. The cars original plate was L555HOT, sadly long gone, but Im pretty sure I saw it on a newer Impreza whilst I was in the back of a taxi near Chelsea!

I work in Chelsea, But not guilty m8! on the way to work, which is a 7 mile drive a P1 always passes me around the time I drive in the oppersite direction and flashes, and I see a black wrx and a black evo 6 parked next to each other in Earls court.

Taxi, it's really not that bad driving your beast in the city.

Mine is a UK94 also in Mica Black met. Ex demo car (aagggrrrrr) with Prodrive GOLD wheels, and for some bizarre reason McRae interior.....

mark, my car was registered in April of 94, and was with the dealer for a few months before it went to the first owner so probably was used for demos ( doesnt seem to have done it much harm, its done 68,0000 and ive had it over 2 years and NOTHING has gone wrong!!). Seems
like this first batch was in black mica, which I agree is the nuts when its clean but what a b@$t&rd to keep it that way!

 

I agree it is a complete bugger to keep clean Its a disgrace right now.
I've done 58K miles ~ It had 30K on it when I bought it in Summer 1997.

Problems ~ well it gets hillclimbed, so I've broken a few bits and bobs.
Running Cosworth Pistons, new Gearbox, on my 3rd AP Paddle clutch.
Apexi fuel and Boost management with Apexi BoV and a SS mongoose exhaust.
Runs 1.3bar (19PSI)

I love it to bits ...
