Scooby ECU
#1
Bit slow on the uptake of this admittidly, but just heard about the chip/ECU/adapter thing for pre '96 cars. Question is, I have read the details on the scoobyecu website and have made some sense of it. I have a 94 WRX and am enquiring what I need to do to get this for mine. It mentions about 12pin socket adapters, does mine have that. Im not mechanically that way, I just drive them. Can anyone help!

Had the same problem as you m8, I e-mailed Scott to confirm what I had to do, he said it was ok to take out the whole ecu (undo about eight nuts and bolts) and post to him to sort out. There are instructions on the location and removal of the ecu on here somewhere. It is a metal box about 6" square, it cost me about £7 to send it special delivery. Got it back thursday and it don't half make a difference.

If you are confident soldering then fit the socket yourself !
else scott will fit one for you for a few quid
It is well worth it!
The moment you start with the new chip the Difference is instant
best performance / Pound you will get !!

Scott T did a scoobyecu for my MY96wrx wagon. You will notice the difference - smoother and pulls much better. I just had a H+S downpipe fitted and I cannot believe how much better that makes the car pull throughout the rev range!!
