Question

Hi....

I have a 96 'N' 4wd turbo (UK) and am having intermittent starting problems.

It will start everytime without fail when cold... but sometimes, when it has been standing for between 1 - 60 mins after a drive.. it will turnover but not fire...

I then continue to try and start it and sometimes it will start on the 3rd or 4th attempt... but sometimes it may not start until about the 20th attempt.

can anyone make any suggestions as???

Two immidiate possibilities spring to mind:

* Fuel pressure (or lack of). Leave the car on ignition for 5 seconds before cranking
* Crank position sensor knackered. Check it with Select Monitor at your friendly dealer, then get it replaced if necessary.

Sounds VERY similar to the problems I had last week.

Thanks for the info guys... I will get the crank sensor checked... as it's still under warranty.

Thanks again.
