51 plate GX - intermittently hesitant

Hiya,
Can anyone give me any clues on this one?
I have a 51 plate GX (btw, what "MY" is this - what does "MY" stand for?) which is intermittently very hesitant.
Some days it drives like a dream, but on others there's just no power in it. It'll rev away happily, but there's just no power in it - the slightest hill kills it.
Often if I hold my foot on the accelerator or 'floor it' there's a sudden step change and it starts to go quite nicely again.
Took it to my dealer on Monday who checked the ECU for errors, but couldn't find anything wrong. Dealer reset the ECU and it was fine for a couple of days - but now it was back to driving like a dog this morning.
Any ideas what might cause this?
With it being an intermittent problem, I think it's going to be a difficult one to track down...
I was wondering if it might be a sensor or something.
Cheers for your help.
