Been discussed before, but now its getting colder in the morning I'm noticing how annoyingly hesitant, jerky and generally crap my STI7 is in the morning. I'm not trying to drive fast in it as I never go above 3000 for the first 5-10 minutes. I think its the only thing that lets the car down.

Yes it's one of the things. I understand that it's to meet some strict (American?) emission regulations.

"Every car shall run as lean as chuff within 1 second of starting"

Mines running very well now with this cold snap, much better than when we have hot weather.

Do you have PPP and what fuel are you using ?

It runs very well in the cold after the first 10 minutes but runs 'reluctantly' at first. Its not got the PPP and is run on nothing but Optimax since I've had it. It could have been run on 95UL before though for the first 10,000 miles. I've done 2500 on Optimax.

Might be worth having the ECU checked for errors as I know some people who's cars have been a bit lumpy since it turned cold and it turned out resetting the ECU made a difference.

Much improved after an ECUTEK remap. Mine was always pretty hesitant - now its just like a "normal" car when cold.
