Performance Problem...

(Moderators - please leave this in general for a few days as I need as much help as I can get!)
Hi all,
I am having a problem with my MY99 Turbo which I would be so grateful for any help at all.
Basically, after trying 2xEcuTek 2's, as well as a custom mapped Link ECU, no performance improvements were noticed at all,
so Im beginning to think there might be something else where in the engine a miss as a result?
Has anyone come across this problem before? The local performance specialist is also stumped. Turbo is fine as its holding
boost no problem. Has anyone any ideas please before I get really worried!???
(Other mods are: Full decat, K&N Induction, Dawes Device (taken off before ECU fitted).
Many thanks to anyone with some advice,
Gib

You say no performance improvement - Do you mean no power gains shown/achievable on the rolling road? If so, what kind of power have you currently got? Current Boost pressure etc?
Is the same person doing the work for you?
I've known someone to replace an ECU for one which wasn't as good as the one they had in, as they didn't know the original was a modified unit (not a scooby though).
Without knowing a little bit more, no one could begin to accurately guess, or suggest, where to look. Or alternatively, they could give you a list of 100 things to check, and without proper diagnostic equipment, you will not be able to check them all.

Hi, thanks for the reply. It hasnt been on a rolling road so I cant give you accurate figures unfortunately, but the acceleration difference is very noticable even on the open road.
Im currently running 1.4 bar boost, bhp is approx 250 currently, hence why looking for the ECUTek upgrade.
I did think it might be the ECU itself as it was just a Tek2, not Tek3 specifically for my mods, but even after installing a Link ECU was there little difference. The ECU in the car currently is the standard MY99 Turbo.
Any ideas what could be wrong at all? Quite worrying now, and I dont think I could go back to a main dealer after all the mods on her...
