CASTROL MAGNETEC????
#1
Hi all,
Just been on the phone to the guy servicing my 95'WRX today and he has informed me Subaru UK now recommend Castrol Magnatec for the turbo car?
Anybody else heard this? He said there was a press release out to Subaru about it.....
Anyway - my service quote was £460 +vat for cambelt and ALL OTHER FLUIDS - how much should be knocked off for using a cheaper oil.
I HOPE HE'S RIGHT - 'COS HE's JUST PUT IT IN THE CAR...
a slightly worried,
marcus

hay he may be right!! i am using mobil 1 at the moment and have found that the tappets are on the loud side!! talking to a friend who drives a Evo, says that rallyart recommends castol. i might try it in the next oil change to see how good it is=)

so if the oil is magnetic and it is supposed to stick to the working parts etc. What stops all the metallic crud from your piston rings and cylinder bores from being filtered out of the liquid then ??? I`m talking about the stuff that gets through the oil filter...........Not for me thanks.

Yep, 'tis true. Castrol Magnatec used by my dealer when servicing turbo models. Don't know the suitabilty of Magnatec for turbo models so next service I'll consider using Castrol RS or Mobil Motorsport unless I hear anything to the contrary
