Fitted my headers yesterday & the boxer growl has almost gone, Its now more raspy with a low burble & sounds like a superbike on full song.
Lost a little low down grunt but pulls really strong higher up the revs, Much quiter in the cabin though strangely... Can i live with the noise, Hmm will have to wait a while !!!

Equal length headers remove the flat4 burble. But add 25Lbs torque through each gear. Went in the power station STI and it just pulls and pulls and does sound like a race bike. Depends on what you like. Personal preference really - what i would say is - You wont always drive fast everywhere you go and sometimes its nice to sit with a burble at the lights. On the otherhand you might not want to get noticed and go for the headers as the car is very quiet stood still. Sounds like a normal car...

All personal choice. I just love the Flat4 sound..

These are un-equal headers, Went for these to retain the growl (as much as Poss), Will have to park side by side with a scoob that has it's origional headers & one with equal length on the other side to compare..

Do know what you mean about the Flat four sound though KAne

Got a Blitz Nur Spec R and Scoobysport downpipe and its crazy loud.

Fitted the Gruppe S headers and its still just as loud. I think the flat 4 noise has gone a bit but it still produces a deeper sound and sounds a bit different as well.

So im keeping mine

After more driving I think i kind of like the noise, & seeing as skin takes a while to grow back , I'll leave them on
