Question

Hi All,

I'm in need of the name and address/telephone details of a company that can supply imported parts.

My Air Con unit recently went belly up with what appears to be a hole in the condenser.

*** Does anyone know if the Jap condenser is the same as a UK version?

This is the text, including part numbers, that appears on the little label at the top of the condenser (which sits just in front of the Radiator at the very nose of the car) :

Condenser
HFC 134a
Cust Prod No : 73210FA110
Serial No : 95-W033178
ZJP Part No : 503708-2781
ZTX Part No : 120-60521
Rev : 00

Thanks for any help

Andrew

Can anyone help?

Andy,

There are a couple of UK sites on the web who offer Impreza spares, they may be able to help you out.

Thumbs up

Simon,

Thanks for the info.

I've got the air con repair man looking at the same time so hopefully one of us will turn up a supplier.

Cheers

Andy

Andy,

I've had exactly the same problem on my STi V3. I managed to find a secondhand part for £50 + VAT from a V2 car (like yours). It looked the same but the connection sizes were different. I have had to spend a further £40 having the holes milled out but I will have still saved £200. Subaru dealer SGT at Taplow were helpful if you want a new one and I do believe that it is the same as the UK part - BUT MAKE SURE YOU GET ONE FOR A 96MY.

Fitting is easy - mail me and I'll contact you and talk it through with you - mine's been in and out three times now!

Question

Have you considered taking it to a radiator repair centre, like Serck Marston or similar and see if the puncture can be repaired?

They may even be able to re-core/recondition it for a reasonable cost.

Mike.
