Cleaning Engine Bay
there is a good kit you can get from halfords, cant remember the name but costs about £7.99,and you get cleaner and a finishing spray, just spray on leave about 10mins and jet wash off, dont jet wash the intercooler or the main electrics, then spray on the finishing stuff its looks really good, having trouble with pics at the moment but do a search on engine cleaning and that should bring up some good threads on the subject.

Another vote for the Halfords stuff here.
CD2 I think it was called. Use a soft paint brush to aggitate the worst parts then after 10 mins rinse off.
Much better than using a jet wash or steam cleaner as I dosn't force water into parts water is not supossed to go.

One thing to remember, DONT forget to re apply the protective coating to all the alloy parts, otherwise a few days later and all the alluminium starts looking really abismal. once this happens, you will never get the alloy to look the same.
Yep another vote here for Turtlewax CD2 Engine cleaner and detailer kit, be careful with your alarm and fusebox area when you wash off. I put a marigold glove over the alarm.
btw Halfrauds are doing a bogof ( buy one get one free) on turtlewax gear so you could get a free Alloy wheel cleaning kit too
