I`ve had my Std UK 97MY 4Dr for a month now.

What can I say....(had a 1.8l Mondeo before). Probably biggest eye opener is cornering grip and stability. Performance is awsome but is also quickly acustomed too (The oh-my-god factor anyway).

One of the threads I`ve picked up on is the wastegate getting stuck open / not able to seat properly and the resulting blow-over-bottle-neck noise.

Now I have noticed this noise, quiet prominently, but its intermittant and only on partial throttle (1/4 - 1/3). No sign on Wide-open throttle.

Does this mean my bits need adjusting / cleaning at next service or is it another Scooby trait?

I must say generally this website is excellent. There is a alot of quality input in terms of questions and answers.....which is why a ScoobySport exhaust and filter are next........

If its happening talk to your nearest dealer and get them to replace the blow off valve under warranty, it took longer to fill the paper work in than it did to do the job itself when i had mine done last year, the car feels like it picks up better when its done as well. When mine did it, it was under similar conditions to yours, usually when accelerating under partial throttle, between 3-4500 revs.
