Hi,
Has anyone had any experience fitting a cat to an aftermarket cat-less exhaust?
My Legacy turbo just failed the MOT because the stainless mongoose exhaust fitted when I bought the car does not have a cat
, unfortunately i dont have the original exhaust to fit back on for the test.
The mechanic at the test station had heard of a company that can supply cat inserts, any ideas?
I dont want to have to buy a new standard system for £800.
PS - Sorry to post a Legacy question on an Impreza board but i'm desperate. Also any Impreza owners worrying about long term reliability - my legacy is still going strong at 195k miles @ +250BHP!!

Thanks for the reply,
I've already managed to sort out a convienient solution.
The MOT station which failed the car has sourced an aftermarket cat with a 3" pipe, which they've agreed to fit into my existing stainless system for £260.
They've also agreed to make it removable should the power loss be too much to live with![](http://bbs.sidc.co.uk/smile.gif)
Cheers
