Went to see an STI version ? last night (details not given to protect the guy, just incase he doesn't know!) He said it was a version 4, however no colour coded skirts, no new dash, but had everthing else, engine, short shift etc etc. When taking the GC8 number, it came up as a MY94 AWD automatic!!! Does anyone know if STI's came with dodgy identification numbers as I know some of them are registered as 1.8GL'S??
Price was excellent, however wanted to double check
Any help desperately wanted/appreciated.
Al.

The model code should have matched. Which bonnet did it have?

Had all lightweight panels like an sti should!
do you think it was a ringer? surely he would have known to put a similar plate on it!
it was an r reg on a 97, which would have made it an sti v3 if before sept, if after sept it would have been a my98 with revised dash etc.
Very strange car, but all the right bits!
Anyone else have any info??

Was it the later bonnet or earlier one?
Was the intercooler slanted or straight?

I would smile sweetly and walk away m8.
Ive matched up that applied model number to a normal WRX made between 10/93 and 08/94 240hp Automatic.
Somthin not quite rite there me thinks.
