a weired things just happened to me wrx there i took her out for a spin and when i go to about 110 mph the car seemed to stop and me rev counter went to zero for a couple of seconds then kicked back in by this time to scared to try and rev her again so i trundled on home does anyone have any suggestions and know any subaru specialists in the north east who i could pay a visit to ?

surely this is the fabled japanese limiter kicking in? do you have an import car, was it not SVA'd to make it UK? They normally remove the delimiter for you.

no did have problem when first got the car i was running unleaded when i got the car later to find i should of been runiing on optimax so been running on that for about a week now is there anyway can tel if its been de limited ?

Could also be a botched job on the de-limiter installation, although it could be something completely different, and coincidental, like fuel starvation on a low tank.
Have you tried repeating the feat, and ruled out all the other obvious causes, like running on at least a quarter of a tank of proper (Optimax + OB unless it's been remapped) fuel?
