The fuel gauge is a bit misleading. Even when you get down to the middle bar of the "E", you've still got 8-10 litres left in the tank.

If you're new to Scoobs Ed, it might be worth pointing out that the car can suffer fuel starvation under heavy cornering/acceleration when below the "quarter tank" mark, and by the time you get down near the "E", you can get it when accelerating in a straight line too. Add this to the car's thirst for petrol, and it's always worth keeping a bit in the tank.

From at least 95 M/Y on the turbo is 60 litres. The Sport (non turbo) is only 50 litres. When mine reads empty it takes 55 litres. It can be run a bit lower but if you are going to experiment I suggest you carry a spare 5 litres fuel in a can, in case you go too far.
Depending on the pump installation there will be somewhere between 1 amd 5 litres unusable.
