Any comments on the suspension setup of the 99 spec car compared to the 98 spec ?
It feels considerably softer to me with more body roll. Can any one confirm this ?

I was thinking about the Prodrive suspension kit. Has any one out there tried it ?

 

I have had my MY99 for five days now, with Prodrive suspension and 17" Speedlines. Superb. The ride quality is far better than I expected, and the road noise is not to bad on reasonable roads. Bangs around a bit at low speed on very poor surfaces.

This is more than made up for by the handling, which is superb. Still waiting for the tyres to come fully in, but the car seems more neutral-overstear than the standard car, which I seem to remember had a bit to much understear for me.

And besides, people love the 17" gold wheels!

 

I'm driving a MY98 car, by comparison to my friend's MY99 car I can defenetly say that both cars have excactly the same suspension setting.
In terms of overall comfort the MY99 Impreza has the advantage by using full adjustable seat, so the driving position and the feeling behind the wheel is different.

 

I run a MY99 5dr. I was surprised at how stiff the suspension was, compared to test drives in a 97 4dr and 98 5dr. It feels less compliant than my old MY97 106 GTi. That's not to say it's not better than the Pug, merely less comfortable in some circumstances.

The spec may be different in Israel, but in the UK the 99 suspension is definately firmer.

It now feels very like the Prodrive suspension of previous years.
