I got a problem on my 98 M.Y. Turboand I need some help especially from all of you might have some expirience.
The steering wheel of the car is balancing almost 5/60'sec at the right side when the car is mooving. If I turn it to the center the car goes left. If I leave the steering wheel thew car in a distance of 100-150 meters goes right direction .And the last is that the left turns are more heaver ( I kmean the feeling on the steering wheel.)
I let the car checked by local Subaru dealer here in Greece ( steering alignment for dozen times but it was within the limits).So the deny that there is a problem.But any of my friends and of course a good driver can feel the deference on handling.
The suspencion that I checked has a diference between the rear 8% less on right absorber.
Please let me know what I shoyld do cause I am despert With all this.

 

It is unclear form your posting how bad the "pull" to the right is. Is it possible that the pull is being caused by the camber of the road? This would give you a gentle drift to the right on your roads.

I have made it a habit to have the steering alignment on my cars checked by a specialist company equipped with 4 wheel steering geometry kit. very clever (laser beams) and can save a lot of expense when tyres are as expensive as they are.

Has it hit anything?

Are you certain that the brakes are not binding and that the hubs are in good condition?

Although the alignment is correct, it must be correct with the steering wheel at straight ahead. Otherwise, the power steering will not be balanced.

 

The car was Brand new at 20-2-98.No hittings at all since now.The problem appeared after 2000km of superb driving filling (I kept all the precautions at the first driving period).And suddenly after the first service out, begun the problem.Heavier left turnw and a noticeable diference on steering wheel balance.
With my poor Knowledge of 20 years driving in sport cars it's realy a mistery.
I turn my mind back to find out if something I have done wrong.Nothing except of loading it for couple of travells to the beutifull Greek country.(Yoy Know wife -kid-luggages).Nothing more extreme.

I had the same problem!!
I took it to a Dealer here in the UK (sorry) and they found that it was a combination of the Track not being set, the steering wheel not being fitted correctly & tyre pressures (many garage forecourt guages being inaccurate).

RAGOS,you keep mentioning that you have had the car checked on specialised equipment,this 4 wheel alignment equipment is only as good as the person using it and as i have found out in the past very few people do.
i mentioned to you a few days ago to measure the wheel centres on the n/s and o/s did you do this??? its a very basic check and easily done.
measure the amount off turns of the steering wheel from one full lock to a full lock the other way are they equal.
with the front off the car jacked up and axle stands under with the engine running are there any tight spots on the steering when the steering wheel is moved from one lock to another.
let me know how you get on bit if you dont answer its difficult to help.peter.

 

The problem with the garage gauges is also here in greece the same.So I bought a presice gauge from Bridgestone for my own use.
This weekend i checked the wheel centres as peter told me and I found it the same at left and right side.
As per the alighnment I did it to the Subaru Ofiicial service but as I too Know That few work them ok , I did not let to change the settings from the factory.
