Handling/ride effects of 16" on an MY95
#1
I've been advised by one person to put 16" wheels on my MY95 turbo, increased handling and great looks.
By another, I've been advised to syick with the 15" wheels and put Bridgestone S02's on, which will increase grip and ability, without ruining ride.
Do 16" wheels ruin the ride of a 95 car because it was designed for 15" wheels,
what to do???

I too would be keen to hear 'expert opinion' on this subject. I am currently looking at purchasing an Impreza turbo, and the cars I have looked at so far seem to range between 15, 16 and 17 inch wheels. What are the important handling differences.
Sorry I haven't helped Iain, but I'm looking for the same information.

My 95MY WRX has 16" wheels (I believe they were standard on this MY in Japan)
Living in Mid-Wales I can confirm that the handling and ride comfort is excellent on these wheels - with Toyo tyres.
However - I have never driven an equivalent car on 15" wheels and I dont know what difference there is between standard UK spec and standard Japanese spec dampers/springs.

Have an MY94, standard suspension , but have put 16'' STI wheels on. Better turn-in, less tyre roll, generally sharper handling. Did'nt notice that much of a difference in ride quality. And of course looks much better!!
