Driving yesterday morning with the ac on I could hear about every couple on mins a click and then the air con came on but the engine missed for 1 second. I'm sure it's only started to do it. Any ideas, is this normal?

the air con unit operates via a thermo relay, which only cuts the system in and out "as and when" required, so not to load the engine permanently. You may notice the engine rev's drop slightly, or a slight "uneveness" but not normally a problem as under normal usage. Thats why even the alternator only really charges the battey when you switch "other things" on, if left without any loading, it wont even recharge the battery ! So much for "intelligent technology" !!
