My car is making a whining noise which appears to be coming from the nearside front when throttling off in any gear.
Any thoughts as to whether it is a gearbox bearing or clutch thrust bearing or something else ?.
I only use the car for hillclimbs and sprints. It had a new clutch in July and since then I have done two hillclimbs and a sprint, so approximately 15 standing starts, so the clutch obviously has quite a hard time.
The gearbox only really gets hard use up through the gears other than one corner at the end of a straight where I drop from third to second and therefore there is a lot of strain on the gearbox as it goes up to maximum revs in second.
