Question

I am about to do my first MOT test on my Scooby.

I read somewhere that some garages may keep the car if it fails its test because "it is unfit for the road". Do garages have the right to do so if a car fails its emmissions test for example?

Sorry Brun but we (MOT testers) DO NOT have any authority to hold anyones car no matter what condition it is in before or after the test.IF it fails big time all we can do is ADVISE that it is in a unfit condition and should not be driven on the road.
The owner is then liable if caught by the Police.
