Noisy Handbrake Release
#1
Hello, can anybody assist please, whenever I park on an incline and come back later to drive away as I release the handbrake their is an loudish clunk/creak from the rear disks, maybe a simple lubrication issue perhaps, don't know to be honest.
Any help would be gratefully received.
Cheers

If it's a "clunk", it'll just be the shoes releasing. If it's a "squeak", it'll be the shoes squeaking against the backplate.
The latter can be eliminated by a small amount of copper loaded grease, although you're obviously looking at removing the caliper and disk to get at it. Care must be taken, as it can contaminate the friction surfaces if too much is applied.
