Does anyone know of a place that will do compression testing on a Scoob in the north-west (ish) area??

the cost was IIRC £30, they just remove 1 spark plug at a time & screw in the gauge & turn it over, they also did a hydrocarbon test just to back up the results

I would remove all four plugs so there is no compression on any cylinders then check compression on each one to give an accurate reading.
