MY/02 wrx. I've got a WR sport back box on but need to know can I replace the centre section, and does this piece have a "cat" in it?

Yes you can replace the centre section, this itself does not have a cat but there is another smaller pipe which has the cat in which can also be replaced. If you look you will see the two pipes joining, this is also why you can get decat and centre sections for the MY.
I have H&S centre section and cat replacent with PPP BB and never looked back.
