MAF Questions
Hi there, think me MAF is playing up but not too sure.
Car does not always boost with heavy right foot action, sometimes goes to 4500 rpm b4 kicking in, only occasionally. I can count the number of times on my right hand.
Sometimes when cold it feels lumpy, bit of judder (not clutch) between 2500 - 3250 rpm.
Idle OK.
How much do they cost.
Thanks
Ru...........Oooooooh forgot its MY99

From: R.I.P Piphead, at least you are home now :(
The Judder could well be hesitation, but dont quote me on that
A friend of mine recently had problems with boost on his MY00, it would only peak at 9-10 PSI instead of the normal 14PSI
Occasionally it would boost at full PSI, but more often than not, it would stick at 10 Psi
So he cleaned the Boost Solenoid (no difference) took the DV off and put the OE one back on (no difference)
Tried a new MAF worked a treat
I think the sensor alone is about 80 quid all in, the full unit is about 270 !!, so dont let the dealer sell you a full unit
If you do a search you should be able to get just the part number for the sensor
Cheers
Steve
