Unhappy

I have got an MY95 WRX and have just replaced my slanted intercooler for an MY02 WRX intercooler. I have only given it a little drive to work and back but the car seems to have lost some torque low down in the revs and the engine doesn't sound right. Would the fiiting of the racing dawes and HKS FCD I have just bought and do I have to adjust the timing?

It is starting to get better but will check conections at the weekend. It is worst on start up when it gives a load un-natural roaring noise when turning over then it sonds ok.

HI IVE JUST FITTED A tmic OFF A P1 this eve, my car is a my94 STI-1 the tmic as std is the slanted version, and it was singl intake.

Now onn the way home i couldnt believe how diff, the car was ,noticed as soon as i set off, alot more responsive, but WOW what a diff at 4000 rpm and above, its much much more powe full, one of the best mod,s ive done, im now runnin it with a modded y section and no rubber joining on the y section, just had the y section altered, and welded, new brackets on the side, also got all the end tanks polished, like mirrors now car is ok no flat spots or any thing like that, just a lot quicker through out, WELL WOTH IT, AND EASY TO FIT

Question

Exess

did you have any fitting issues regarding it hitting the bulkhead? I have all the kit waiting to go on (MY99 IC with alloy Ypiece going onto a MY95 WRX) but have been told there is a clearance issue ??

Your car shouldn't be any "worse" with the bigger intercooler on it; should be at least as good, if not a bit better, and you shouldn't have to muck about with the boost or timing to get it running properly.

If it is worse, chances are you've missed something in the I/C install somewhere. Are you sure there aren't any leaks in the induction piping?
