My imported Jap.WRX engine is equiped with my MY99engine-actuators/generators etc.except the injectors. All is connected to the MY99 ECU,and all works perfect.A remap was needed however, because of the wrong injectorsignal that was given by the MY99-ECU.The WRX-injector's are smaller, and needed a different ECU-signal to produce enough fuel.

Not the answer you wanted, but it gives you an idea of the possibilities.

Yes, the 95 UK ecu will plug straight in. A better option would be to talk to David Wallis/Scott Taylor/Pavlo about getting a ScoobyEcu remap... It will do a better job.

I have an scoobyecu, but it won't hold a steady boost, one minute it running with 15psi, next it's running in limp mode, but no errors wehen I check with the two black plugs.

Yes the UK ecu will certainly work... Your problem could well not be ecu related though. Its probably worth checking and cleaning your map/solenoid pipework.

Ze1220,

Are you running a WRX wagon. If so it may require remapping using the Wagon base map with revised fuel/ignition/boost control maps.

OR you may need a complete Saloon map with the same revised regions.

I think there is an issue with WRX wagons, but I'm not sure what maps people have been supplied with that have seen this issue.

If you can find out what map was put in it there may be a way around it.

Scott,
As far as I know it has the 94_Stage2_Wagon_V2.xls and WRX94_V9,xls, that's what David Wallis said in a mail to me.

I'd tried the UK ecu to rule out a problem with the scoobyecu.

I don't know what to try next, any ideas?

Thanks,
Dave

Nope its not compatable, simple as that due to the different turbo on the wrx wagon (a td04) to the td05 on the uk saloon.
The power gains would be virtually zero anyway, the wrx wagon on an MY95 has roughtly the same power output as the uk saloon (220ps on 100 ron fuel for the wrx wagon v 208bhp on normal unleaded for the uk my95).

duty cycles are at similar levels when comnparing UK and WRX wagon maps. Except that the Wagon boost tails off dramatically once above 4,000rpm.

I would expect a performance gain if a UK ECU was fitted into a WRX wagon.

Ah but your going to be running one car with a turbo that spools up 1k rpm quicker than the other really, the turbo size is going to be a very big factor IMHO so compatability is a no no.
I suppose if you changed your turbo from a td04 to a td05 it would work

From: Leeds - It was 562.4bhp@28psi on Optimax, How much closer to 600 with race fuel and a bigger turbo?

depends on which car they come from..

wrx saloon has td05
wrx wagon has td04
uk wagon td05
uk saloon td05

if that made sense?

Wink

Yup that makes perfect sense to me
This is why i pointed out that it wont work (the ecu is from an MY95 UK saloon going into an MY95 WRX wagon).

FYI ze1220 tried the UK95 ECU and it worked fine. The limp home mode is due to the map or a fault on the ScoobyECU.

He's sending it to me next week to be fettled
