I have a UK MY99turbo, what ECU do I have?
I think I read somewhere that there are different types in the same model series? and that can make a huge difference in power?
Is this correct?
I am in for a remap soon so need to know what the options are..

You've either got the black labelled AE800 or the brown labelled AE801. Both these are similar. It's the AE802 that came with the MY00 that differs a bit in the ignition and fuelling maps.

If you have a very late MY99, it's also possible that you could have one of the cr*p AE802's, although most of them have 801's.
It's pretty easy to find out, the ECU is located at the front of the passenger side footwell, and can be revealed by releasing and pulling back the carpet, then removing the cover plate.
