On a run today when the check engine light illuminated for a short period , this happend 3 times. First time was when pulling away from lights at the bottom of a steep hill, them it came on again half way up the hill, and then again when slowing at the junction at the browe of the hill. I had been ticking over at the lights for a while and i'm thinking that unburnt petrol may have caused this problem, is my assumption correct? I was low on fuel at the time,could it have been crap in the fuel?, I have now filled the car up, and as yet the check engine light has not showed its face again(touch wood). This car is my dads car and he has only had it around 3 weeks , it is a 2.5L 4 cam R reg AUTO,if that helps, it has had all the correct servicing since new, so has been looked after.

Check engine has not illuminated today, but the car is slightly unresponsive, my dads taking it to our subaru dealers tom.

Any help would be greatly welcomed
