Question

i have had my 95 import for about 3 months now, about a week after i got it the check engine light started to come on intermitantly but the engine was running fine and had no problems.
A Suberu garage and power engineering have both had a look but found no codes logged in the module
any one got any ideas on a possible fault, i thought possible MAF sensor because i have a K&N and have read on here that oil from it can clogg it up??

any ideas anybody
cheers weis

Check for error codes yourself here

http://www.saxonfields.freeserve.co.uk/

If it has stopped occurring then don't worry about it until it happens again.. as you have no way of tracing it.

If the CEL comes on, there must be a DTC logged by the ECU.

Ergo, if the CEL is coming on and there are definitely no error events in the memory, the likeliest cause is a short somewhere in the loom causing a "false" CEL illumination.

Need to check for stored errors though, as this sort of short isn't very likely.
