Noticed a strange noise
today under hard acceleration, happens at different amount's of revs (only lasts a second) and also felt a loss of power at the same time. Also heard the noise when clutch down for the the next gear change at circa 6000 rpm.
Any ideas anyone ?

<grin> No, no fan belt as such. Just alternator/power steering on one belt and the aircon (if fitted) on another.
Could be a slipping belt of some description though. If it was the aircon belt slipping, it could be caused by the aircon switching in and out, which could also explain the perceived power loss...
Either way it's an easy one to check...

Cheers for the replies peeps
current thought is a loose heat shield, it's still making the noise at around the 6000 rpm mark but no power loss, must've imagined that methinks.
