What sort of bhp figure can I expect to get from a link ecu? I have a 98 V4 Type R.
I intend to have a Blitz Nur spec R fitted before hand and a Green cotton filter.
I was hoping for a total of 330-350 bhp. Am I dreaming?
I've heard that most mods do not give the bhp quoted.

My engine is currently being rebuilt, whilst this is in progress I was thinikng of having some uprated internals such as pistons, crank, rods, bigger injectors, uprated fuel and oil pump fitted.
Would this be the sort of thing be enough?

Hi Mad Gypsy,
You won't get any BHP or power from the link.
The Link will allow you to create a map which is best suited to the mods you have.
You can adjust the map if you add to or change the spec of your current mods.

...so if you're having uprated internals, if you get a larger turbo, the Link would allow you to run higher boost & make use of the additional gubbins in the engine
Uprated internals are pretty pointless with the standard ECU as it'll just continue to run the little TD04 at its full "gentle fart" level. But then you'll also need larger injectors & so on so the costs keep going up

Considering the internals I intend on having and a Blitz Nur spec exhaust. What kind of bhp increase would a link create?
Can an exhaust alone increase bhp by 30?
What are the best mods to get to 350 bhp (from a 280 BHP Type R)

I haven't went internal yet but have ran a Link ECU for 4 years now.
To date, ALL mods have been external on my UK spec engine and at present kicks out just over 400BHP. This is using a boost of just under 1.4 bar, so your thoughts on what is achievable are entirely realistic, but with internal improvements, i would be expecting better results than what i have achieved so far.
