Hello

Does anybody use one of these made by safety devices for sprinting or hill climbing.
Have you ever had a problem passing scrutineering with it fitted ?

I know that Safety Devices manufacture a removable cage, but I have not has personal experience of one of these being scrutineered.

I did however have a full FIA approved Safety Devices cage fitted to my 1997 turbo (rear + front + door bars).

The only problem is on the rear cage (if you do not fit the front and door bars).

The door bars are bolted into the "down" bar just behind the driver and passenger seats. The rear cage comes with the opening to take the bars and it is like an open piece of pipe - potentially lethal if the seat brakes loose as the pipe will come into contact with your kidneys.

A friend of mine was not allowed to compete at Prescott Hill Climb because of this.
