hi,
i was thinking of changing my plugs myself, someone said there is a coil on each plug? is that the black things. how do i get them off without damaging them.

Pull them out in a straight line, don't waggle, bend, twist or flex them in any way
Otherwise you risk cracking the ceramic internals
(if it uses ceramic internals that is - Audi/VW's do and their own numbnut mechanics break them)
If you have an earlier scoob (can't remember the dates), might just be leads with the coil pack in the middle of the engine.

remove the 12mm bolt then pull the coil off. You dont need to get under the car to do this as in that thread, removing the windscreen washer bottle on the NS gives access (just 2 bolts), removing the airbox top on the OF gives access(just a couple of clips to undo)
