Having never owned a jdm car, I'v never had to use octane booster.

Q. Would using an octane booster in a uk 03 wrx (ppp) have any benefits or would it have a detrimentle effect on the engine ?.

Cheers

Chris.

Depends to some extent if you are decatted or not. Some OB will mess up your catalysts. Apart from that, OB normally don't do any damage in that you can't put too much in. I don't know the situation re JDM MY03 ecus though. Why not e-mail John Banks or Bob Rawle on here - they will know.

Chris, any chance in posting up your findings on this subject, me and the mrs are going to be doing a tour of the north later in the summer and I've got a nasty feeling once I get past Inverness I'll be struggling to get Optimax, so I am going to carry a few bottles of millers or pro-boost in the boot for when I get lumbered with normal UL.
Cheers.

If it's any help I seem to remember looking up Optimax on Shell a year or so ago and they tell you exactly which of their stations stock Optimax. You might be lucky. Mine's only ever run on it from new. I'm now afraid to experiment.
