I have the same car but type RA and I can't tell if theres booster in or not - running Optimax and Millers at the moment and just fitted a AFR meter, the car runs rich on the scale so looks like all is well (safe).

My 93wrx runs on optimax with the odd bottle of millers if I'm planning on caning it or it's very warm. Don't have any problems with det and AFR shows rich when foot planted to it should be fine. I would recommend a knocklink though as this will show up any det you may have (bad batch of fuel, ecu reset, very hot intake temps etc) all these sort of things can increase the risk of det so better to be safe than sorry
