Unhappy

I have a MY99 uk turbo that is down on power. It starts pulling ok to 4000rpm then hits a massive flat spot till approx 5000rpm then comes back a little bit. I have had it checked out and its struggling to get to 5psi boost, the cam timing and compression have been checked and are fine, anyone got any ideas as Subaru want £50+vat an hour to look at it and dont seem to confident about finding an answer??? Any help would be greatly recieved.

Thumbs up

sounds to me like a MAF(mass air flow) sensor fault.
quite common on your year car.
they cost around £70 from the dealer!

Cheers I have checked the ecu and there are no faults on it, I reset it anyway, could it still be the MAF even though it didnt show on the diagnostic check???

apparently a goosed MAF sensor can sometimes not show a fault until its completely f**ked. so it could still be your MAF
