Question

Is it possible to clean the sensor I have a MY98 (hotwire type I think) if so what is the best way to go about it.

You could clean out the housing with spray brake cleaner, as for the wire itself, it will probebly break if you touch it! Maybe use a cotton bud or somthing, dodgey as **** though, break it and its about 82 quid!

recently replaced mine on my95 jap import. I cleaned it with carb cleaner and a cotton bud a few times before it finally gave up (about two weeks). mine is a hotwire type and cost £217 to replace ....apparently the other type is much cheaper to replace if you take it out of the housing and just replace the offending bit

ive a 1994 wrx sti the old one's lol took mine off yesterday all looked clean but sprayed it with de,greaser, used brake cleaner in the past, then wiped it all out with a damp cloth, rinsed it too, and touched the maf to clean it, proper, no probs ,feel,s no diff even rag i used was clean after, and ive an induction kit,???
