HI,
My 93WRX isnt accelerating as well as it should, im only hitting 56mph at 5000rpm in 3rd! firstly i thought it was the clutch, but it doesnt smell or judder and the bite is still halfway, so i decided to get it checked out before i part with some serious cash. I got it back from the garage who could only find one fault with the canister valve. They say the clutch and the turbo seem fine. Does anybody have any suggestions as to what it might be before i put it on a rolling road.
Thanks

Sounds like a problem I had. Basically the car was detting and the engine was retarding the boost. I took off my induction kit and this seemed to sort the problem. Still get it from time to time though.

Have you tried connecting the diagnostic leads under the dash? I have a 93wrx that was holding back and when I checked the codes I found the boost solenoid wasn't working properly and had reduced my boost to safe mode levels (0.5bar) I cleaned it out with brake cleaner and now the levels are back up to 0.7/0.8. I also had a leaky intercooler pipe which was also causing my problems until I swapped them for samco ones.
Do a search as there has been some recent threads on the diagnostic codes and how to find them or if you want, mail me offline and I'll talk you through it
Found this link which should help
