Stalling / Tek 3
#1
Would appreciate some advise, car is a MY00 with a Tek 3 remap.
Car is stalling ocasionally & idle speed drops below normal each time the car comes to a stop.
Have had the idle solenoid replaced, problem still exists.
No vacuum leaks.
There are no error codes from the ECU.
Have cleaned AFM, no change.
Is there any reason to suspect the Tek 3 tune or is it more likely the AFM or o2 sensor?
I suspect the AFM or o2, is to blame.
Is there any way to diagnose which one without swapping parts over?

I'd go for AFM every time
I think - but I'm not 100% - that you can check if it's the AFM by unplugging it & seeing what the idle does - if it gets better, it's likely the AFM is on its way out (ie the car can run better without taking a misreading AFM into account).

Nom, I disconnected the AFM and it made no difference, stalling and idle prob still existed. Except the car ran very rough just above idle.
I then reconnected it.
Then did the same with the o2 sensor and it didnt make any difference either.
The AFM sensor is the the cheaper option of the two. So I may have to just buy it and see.

The poor idle does make it sound like a MAF (AFR) problem. With the car idling, unplug the MAF. If the idle stabilises then it is a failed MAF.
Your car has a stepper motor to control the idle speed and I have never known one of these to fail. The MAF on your car should be treated as a consumable.
