Crank Sensor problem
I have just received from Grade A a replacement crank sensor for MY93 WRX but having removed the bolt from the existing one I note with interest that the old one and new one are completely different. Basically the existing one has a permanent wired connection to is whereas the replacement has a plug arrangment in other words a sensor looks as though it plugs staright into it. Can anyone advise what they have before I send this back to Grade A
Thanks guys

Nelson, sounds like they've sent you one for a later model. My UK98 has a plug in connector like the one you describe getting from Grade A.
I'm afraid I don't know which year they changed though - suggest a quick call to someone like TSL or XtremeScoobies will put you right though.
One thing you might like to try - I've been told that the early sensors like yours sometimes suffer due to the solder breaking down where the wires enter the sensor body. You could try resoldering the connections and trying it out - might save some cash.

From: Leeds - It was 562.4bhp@28psi on Optimax, How much closer to 600 with race fuel and a bigger turbo?
The legacy one had a wire coming out of it and a three pin connector on it..
The UK turbo's 92 - 96 have a brown connector directly on top of the sensor.. as do the my00+
Then there is a grey connector on the loom which plugs into this..
