oh no ! blue smoke !!!
#1
noticed today that one of my Legacy Turbos is putting out blue smoke, especially once it comes onto the turbo. The car has been sitting around for the last few months and has just been getting used regularly again.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what this would be ? turbo seals, piston rings, valve stem seals, etc ???
Any help / advice would be greatly appreciated !
Cheers !

Thanks for all the replies lads !!!
The car is running absolutely fine but just a bit of blue smoke when it comes onto the turbo.
I will keep an eye on it until I can afford to take it off the road and fit new or re-con turbo.
Any suggestions as to where to get existing turbo repaired / reconditioned or to supply a new unit ???
Cheers !

Stem seals don't go over night no, but you may have only just noticed the smoke, seals get progressivly worse...... take the car for a rag, make sure its nice and warm and then let her run o n the turbo timer etc and go switch it on again an hour or so later..... if there is blue smoke on turn over it would suggest that the seals have gone because the oil is trickling thro the knackered seal(s)
When was the last time you put Oil in the car??
