I've recently installed a HKS boost gauge into MY97 UK Turbo and was somewhat dissapointed when I took it out for a run and at maximum boost im only running 0.6 Bar, the car is only standard but my mate who also has an impreza seems to think that it should be running between 0.8 and 1.0 bar..

Any ideas???

Sounds like you have a bit of a problem. Don't worry - it's quite common, and usually doesn't cost anything much to fix (like £5 for some brake cleaner...)

My guess is that the wastegate solenoid has got gunged up and is not allowing the air to get to the right places There are other things it could be, but let's try the obvious first...

I would suggest that you try searching for "cleaning boost solenoid" or similar for some detailed instructions & pictures.

You could also connect up the diagnostc connectors to see if there are any fault codes stored in the ECU. Again, a search can help with this.
