Have just bouht a magnet that is designed to increase fuel consumption and decrease emmisions. This device can't be bought in the shops but has been tested and is in use on National Grid vehicles and used by Land Rover. Anyway, I am supposed to cable tie it on to the fuel line as near to combustion as possible. Have found three lines on the right hand side of the engine bay coming out of what looks like a fuel filter. Does anyone know which is the main fuel inlet line or if there would be a even closer point to fit it? Will post on any gains after the reccomended 1000 mile test period.

Cheers

Mike

Got to be worth a go. Claims are for 4-5 mpg extra. We will see.

Could still do with the location of the fuel line though.

I think the inlet pipe is the one that goes to the centre of the fuel filter. (maybe wrong)

I cant have magnets on mine, it'll mess up my GPS

Do you not think that if these things actually worked they'd be fitted by the manufacturers as standard ????

Just a thought

Wink

Just fit it wherever it looks best - won't influence its efficiency at all.

Cool

"Have just bouht a magnet that is designed to increase fuel consumption and decrease emmisions."

Personally, I would have tried to obtain one that _decreases_ fuel consumption.

Best place to fit this is to the back of the shed, you'll lose more mpg carrying the thing about than you save.

It's been tested and approved by the DTI, so it must be genuine. I'm as sceptical as you, but it's got to be worth a try.

Hi oz555, is the one you have a BIOFLOW magnet? I used to be a dealer and it is a load of b******t i tested it for months on my work vehicle no different at all. There are also lot cheaper ones out there (and that includes the whole BIOFLOW range) IMHO BIOFLOW is a clever company set up to make the owners and directors a lot of money, and the distributors do all the work for peanuts.

Just my 2p's worth.

I've got a similar double magnet you put on the fuel line on my sport, 300 miles on a tank....driving a bit like a girl though. But for £5 it was worth a go !

Wink

Why don't you just put a clothes peg on the fuel line just before combustion? Cheap and effective

It's used by fleets of desiel trucks, it's supposed to work. The magnetic field supposedly aligns the fuel molecules somehow.

These will be the same diesel trucks that hang a CD from the mirror to stop themselves getting caught by radar traps?

Mate of mine is a distributor. Convinced me enough to shell out £50.00 on one. Apparently it agitates the fuel before combustion and as previously mentioned, reduces carbon deposits and provides a cleaner, more efficient fuel burn. If I can get an extra 5 mpg, i'll be a happy man. Just have to wait and see I suppose. I will post any results as promised. Thanks for replies.

Edited to ask for any more ideas on the fuel inlet. I
