I have a FORGE Dump valve on my MY99 RB5 Scoobie. It sounds great from inside the car but i know its quite quiet from the outside, even when dumping @ 7000rpm

I bought the car with this fitted (screwd directly into the intercooler), i wanted to know if i go a HKS 'Blow Off Valve' you lot know, the one that can be heard from the moon, will it just screw into the intercooler like the FORGE one ?

Any help greatly appreciated (just before i actually buy it @ £250 odd)

My mate Chris has one on his Evo 6, matched up with a 5-ZEGAN Track Exhaust (loudest illegal exhaust ever!) The valve sounds amazing. Anyone got a HKS on their Scoobie ?

I have one on my MY99 STI5, they dont bolt directly to the IC, but come with a fitting kit a flange that bolts to the IC, the DV is mounted on a supplied bracket to the right of the IC.....

This is the bolt of flange you will get... (mmmm flange! )

I have one too. Get the silver or gold insert, it sounds fantastic!. The purple insert is boring sounding

poc, you can get the inserts from any hks dealer. i've got the silver and purple ones, if you want to give either a try let me know.

 

Can Hear mine with the radio full volume, dumps very quick though. It is a noisy thing, belive blitz do a noiseyer one though.

 

midnight racer you in Hemel? Whats the noisyiest (spelling!!!!) insert they do?

 

POC, they do silver, which is high pitched whistle(comes std with some, and sounds superb), Gold, don't know what sound it makes but it is a similar shape to the silver, so prob a similar noise, and purple, which makes a normal whoosh noise.

I've got Blitz too, HKS makes a more interseting noise, Blitz is good though.

 

yeah, just round the corner from you! we met at pod a while ago, green (not for much longer though!) uk turbo. i'm on holiday till the 25th but if you want to try either out after that let me know. my personal favourite is silver one

 

Thanks lads thats settled it - im going to get one this weekend, probably going to get all 3 inserts to see which one sounds best or which one the neighbours can put up with
