sell motul oil..!!

Also make sure the castrol RS oil is the (10/60) type as they also make it in 0/60 or 0/40 something like that...

Question

I've just had my car serviced and have had Mobil 0w40 put in it, but upon just reading another thread, this was said to be too thin for scoobies.

IS this general opinion? what should be used? The car is a MY97 uk catalunya.

way to thin... if your going to use mobil 1 use the 15/50 motorsport stuff which is available from halfords...

Otherwise use either:

Motul 15/50

or castrol RS 10/60

Basically it doesnt cool the bearing in the turbo properly apparently as it slides past the bearing and doesnt cool it good enough..

Also some decent scoob tuners on this board have done some tests using the top three oils i mentioned and they found the motul to give the best oil pressure... So i think the 0/40 oil could also cause a slight decrease in oil pressure..

I'll shout up for Motul 15/50 300v competition. I've just started to use it instead of various other synthetic oils and the car feels much smoother. Also the oil pressure stays higher when worked hard.

i've had to settle for mobil 1 15w50 as i am having the oil changed tomorrow night and can't get th new oil in time.

I must admit, when I first gfot the car, i had an oil change, and i put the mobile 0-40 in then, and then when the car was serviced last year, they put the catrol rs in it, and i think that was also 0-40, can't say i've noticed anyhing bad, but then i don't drive it really hard, just borderline hard, and sometimes real hard.
but i'll put in what i;ve got and maybe change it in 6 mths to the Motul stuff.

Thanks guys for you help.
