more power

228bhp sounds a little ..well low to begin with...most WRX's are around the 250-260bhp to start with...some even touch 270bhp....
As for the enhancments...i would avoid a chip at all cost..its a dangerious road to take, did you have your ecu map altered?
Induction kits work well if fed with cold air ( need to box them in ) as the under bonnet temp its quite high and the air becomes less dense.
i personaly went down the ecu road...a new Apexi Power FC, plus a whole host of toys, HKS induction, full stainless system, plugs, leads, Apexi boost controller full re-map.......how deep are your pockets...thats the question?
search the boards, there are plenty of people who know a million times more that i do, and they will be glade to advise you..
( try Rich Wild....realy nice bloke..good solid advice )
all the best

Hi all,i just had me scooby chiped (93 jap import),it raised the bhp from 228.7 to 251.7 and the torque 209.2 to 234.3lbft.I have a magnex exhaust system i wanted to get a decat but they said it would fail the emisions test on the MOT.ive heard that induction kits are a waste of time.so what els could i do to get more power?
Cheers in advance for any help lads

The easiest mod for an MY93 WRX is the MY95/6 ecu....
240ps is your standard power with 100+ron fuelm, the MY95 chip actually sorts some of the bugs out of the earlier ecu's....
If you have an independant chip (ie the likes of a unichip) then i would get a full decat exhaust and get the ecu remapped (just add a centre cat for MOT's )

Like tony said the early WRX was 240ps which is 236bhp on 100RON fuel so 228bhp on our petrol is ok..!!!
Just incase you wanted to know my MY95 WRX with blitz sus induction kit and blitz nur spec CAT back exhaust i.e still has downpipe cat with a dawes device set at 11 psi on the rolling road a few months back made 261.5bhp and 237lb-ft of torque.
