Can anyone help answer a few questions about delta dash and error codes.

I was driving home on Friday and CEL flashed x number of times, between 20 and 30 then stopped, wasn't driving the car hard (or soft). It didn't appear to loose any performance, still picked up well when tested after easing off, other than the flashing CEL I can't say I would have known about it.

Planned to Delta Dash when I got home but didn't. Travelling to work this morning and half way between portsmouth and winchester CEL starts to flash again. This time flashes maybe 3 times and then stays on.

Get home tonight and what do I find with Delta Dash, only some "Trouble" codes. Current has no entries even though the CEL is hard ON and Historic shows:

P0301 - cylinder1 misfire detected
<no code>

I guess what I'd like to know is, why is the CEL ON if no current trouble codes are evident, does it stay on once a code is detected? and if so, if I clear the codes with an ECU reset will that reset the CEL light.

I think I remember a Pete Croney post mentioning a flashing CEL could be a misfire which would tie in with the error code that I'm seeing now but I've had the CEL flash once before and no trouble codes were reported, so I assumed all was well.

what the hell is <no code> or does this always follow an entry in the error log, a Delta Dash feature

Probably got some more Q's but I guess they'll do for now.

I know of at least one problem that will generate a CEL (related to the lambda sensor?) which will stay on until you've restarted the car 3 or 4 times.

Is there an error code for faulty Lambda sensor, can't see one in the list of error codes in Delta Dash - maybe this explains the <no code> entry?
