the problem i'm having is that the engine is very "lumpy" at "const" revs, it seems ok on gentle and full throttle acceleration... But when I try to keep revs constant its as if the engine is "hunting" for the correct revs... very pronouced @ about 3000 revs in 3rd. In 5th around 2000-3000 its as if its "missing". The cars a 1998 impreza 2000 turbo...

If anyone has any suggestions i would be very grateful

would this be consistant with the symtoms ?
