Question

Help

After a wee jaunt in mainland europe over Easter, I now have a flashing CEL ?

The manual says this indicates an immobiliser failure ?

I don't know if it's related but, prior to the light starting to flash the car was boosting much higher than normal at 14-15psi (normally 11-12psi).

Was and still is running like a dream. Only mods are a decat centre and prodrive back box.

400 miles later the CEL is still flashing about twice per second whenever the ignition is on.

Anyone had this - will it be expensive ? (Booked in at main dealer for Thursday am for diagnostic).

OK

For anyone who is interested (as no one could offer any advice) :

Diagnotic now done by Main Dealer.

Flashing CEL is due to a fault with the immobiliser..... (exactly as the owners manual suggested) They checked and cleared the fault, and it promptly reoccured.

Immobiliser is currently still working, but with a fault that means it could just switch the car off at any time......

New immobiliser unit on order, along with 2 new keys. Including labour this little lot is going to cost ~£300.

Good news was no other ECU faults found at all which was nice.
